What Sworn to the Queen is about

In a castle ruled by an absolute queen, laying a hand on her is punishable by death. She still chooses the lowest-born guard in the keep to stand outside her chamber, and she keeps testing how long he can hold his post.

Candy tags it Fantasy and Taboo. It is a royal-court story where the danger is real, the dares are deliberate, and every character is an adult. No named lead is listed, so the focus stays on the court itself.
