What My Stepsister Thinks I'm Pathetic is about

His stepsister, Mona Newman, is an adult influencer with a sharp tongue. She calls him pathetic to his face, right up until the moment she needs someone to hold the camera, and suddenly he is useful.

Behind the lens he sees a version of her that her followers never get, and the insults stop sounding convincing. The pull comes from the gap between the persona and the person, and from how long she can keep the act going.
